"Driving Home" by Jerome Bettis2944 viewsBettis on Ben Roethlishberger, P. 3
"When Ben got here, I took on the role of big brother. Warren Moon told him to look me up when he got in town, that I would help him out and guide him. When he got here, he asked me to come by and talk to him, so I did. We talked, and I gave him an understanding of what to expect as a first-rounder. I told him I was a former first-round pick, even though it was quite a few years ago, and I understood the expectations and everything that was being asked of him, things to be careful of as a young guy. The relationship developed from the standpoint of my being a big brother, telling him what to do, what not to do, to speak only when spoken to as a rookie, those kind of things. He is definitely the little brother. He is always after me trying to get the upper hand and get back at me. I am always getting on him, so whenever he has the opportunity to get on me, he does that."

Football Digest, February 20052314 views"Roethislberger, our cover boy this issue, has been the biggest surprise of the season. Drafted this year with the 11th pick overall, the Miami of Ohio product has guided the Steelers back to prominence. While his numbers don't compare with those of, say super-QB Peyton Manning, he has played with a poise that belies his years. The Steelers weren't expected to do much of anything this year, but thanks in large part to the work of their rookie QB, they have emerged as a legitimate Super Bowl contender. Roethlisberger is a lock to win the Rookie of the Year award, and he'll get even better in future seasons."
