PFC Steven Landa, U.S. Army985 views"Hello there! My name is Steven Landa, I am 19-years old and in the U.S. ARMY. I first saw Big Ben play when he took over for Tommy Maddox in 2004 - it was my first season watching football. I instantly became both a Steelers fan and a Big Ben fan.
I know he must be going through a lot right now with all the criticism but I truly believe Ben has more than what it takes to make it to the top 5 QB's. Not a lot of fans might know this about Ben, but I know there is this poem called, "Don't Quit" that Ben reads before a game. That poem actually helped me not to give up during basic training.
I also don't mind waking up at three in the morning to watch the Steelers play, win or lose! I have been a huge Steelers fan since '04." -- PFC Steven Landa,Charlie Battery 1-43 ADA, U.S. Army.

October 13, 2010 - Practice1176 views“He always does because he’s a ridiculous competitor. When he has an opportunity to compete, you feel him in the room, or in the stadium. It’s one of the interesting attributes about him as a player and a person. When faced with adversity, when given an opportunity to compete, man he does. I think guys feed off of that.†-- Coach Tomlin on Ben, during his press conference on October 12th.

July 25, 2012 - Seargeant Joe Stanton & Mako1599 viewsThe vest this K9 is wearing was purchased with funds donated by The Ben Roethlisberger Foundation!
From the Facebook page of the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, MD (thank you to Jim Johnson, Jr):
Sergeant Joe Stanton, head of the Sheriff's Office Canine Section, and his partner Mako have been a team since he began his training when he was a puppy in 2005. This award winning canine team graduated from patrol and explosive school and have been partners since 2006. Sergeant Stanton is one of the leading Explosive Instructors and trainers here in Montgomery County as well as Statewide and has been the Canine supervisor at the Sheriff's Office since 1999.
Mako is trained in patrol as well as explosives detection. Mako and Sergeant Stanton respond regularly and assist the Montgomery County Police canine Section with calls for service to include: robberies, bomb threats, burglaries, and domestic violence calls. They were also one of the first responders during the hostage incident at the Discovery Channel building in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Sergeant Stanton oversees the training and qualifications not just for Mako but for all four of the Sheriff's Office Canine handlers and their amazing partners. Sgt Stanton displays tremendous dedication to his profession and his genuine care for all of the canine dogs and the handlers.
Sergeant Stanton was recently instrumental in the Sheriff's Office receiving 2 separate grants from Pittsburgh Steeler quarterback Ben Roethlisberger's Foundation for K9 equipment, to include ballistic vests for all Sheriff's Office dogs. Way to go Joe!!
