March 26, 2014: Santo1147 views“Officer Fritsch is heading to Indiana with Santo this weekend for the start of K9 training! We are very excited to have another K9 to help us in our efforts to combat the influx of drugs in our community. In addition, we are extremely grateful for the grant opportunity through the Ben Roethlisberger Foundation. Budgets are so tight and the funding from BRF aids in accomplishing our mission.†– Captain Ben Bliven, Wausau Police Department, to us on March 28, 2014.
From WSAU News in Wisconsin:
Santo_OfficerFritsch_WausauPD_1Wausau Police officers have a new K-9 helper. Captain Ben Bliven says the new four-legged officer was brought to Wausau last weekend for his initial orientation. “Santo is our newest addition to the police department. He is a two-and-a-half year old German Shepherd, and his partner will be Shawn Fritsch, who is our newest canine handler.â€
Santo and officer Shawn Fritsch will be leaving this weekend for Denver, Indiana to train for six weeks before going on patrol together.
It costs police departments anywhere from ten to thirteen thousand dollars to acquire new K-9’s. Bliven says Santo was purchased with a grant they received from a professional football player’s foundation that focuses on police dogs. “We were able to purchase Santo with the funding that we received from the Ben Roethlisberger Foundation grant that we received back in December.â€

June 30, 2012 - Heinz Field4875 viewsIt was a special night in Pittsburgh for the 'Brothers of the Sun' Tour with Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw with a sellout crowd of more than 53,000.
For Chesney, it was his sixth time to play for a sold-out Heinz Field and in recognition of that feat, the Rooney family, owner's of the Pittsburgh Steelers, presented Chesney a cast iron Six For Six plaque, commemorating his six sold shows and the Steelers six Super Bowls Championships.
“I believe this might be the best gift I’ve ever gotten on the road,†Chesney said. “It epitomizes all the heart and energy and passion that this crowd has, that this town has.â€

February 10, 2015 - 79th Annual Dapper Dan Awards757 viewsCarlee is proud of her big brother, who presented Jim Kelly with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
“The thing about Jim and why I had his poster on my wall is he was tough. Was there anybody tougher than Jim Kelly? I always thought, if you look up toughness in the dictionary, there are two things for certain you would see … the city of Pittsburgh, and Jim Kelly, no doubt about it. There’s Pittsburgh tough, but you know what? There’s Kelly tough. Nothing is tougher than Kelly tough.†– Ben, during his presentation of Jim Kelly’s award.

I know that Steelers fans and people are a little extra excited because of the old traditions and rivalries and the teams, but for me it's about trying to win for Flo at Cowboys Stadium." -- On why winning the Super Bowl would be special for him.
