March 2, 2011 - Determination paid off for Heather Scott!721 viewsHeather took this photo of Carlee and her parents during the Senior Night Presentation at OU. Her story is below:
I’m a lifelong Steeler fan, born and raised in Johnstown, PA. Serving in the Air Force relocated me to Tinker AFB where I also found my second home, Oklahoma, where I started a family and still reside today. I wear my love for the Steelers on my sleeve, meaning after a 15 minute encounter with me you will know exactly how much I LOVE my Steelers.
On March 2, 2011, Ben’s birthday, my son Karsten’s soccer coach messaged me about Senior Night at Oklahoma University (where Ben’s sister Carlee was a basketball star). I thought “if Ben were going to be at a game, THIS was going to be the gameâ€. So I asked my friend Linda to go to the game with me and (of course) had to call my family in PA to tell them what I was up to. Most responses were “Ben doesn’t sign autographs†or “even if Ben’s there, no way you’ll be able to get to himâ€â€¦ but that wasn’t going to slow me down. I was determined and if he was here in Oklahoma, by golly, I was going to meet him....

Carlyse's Benroom...er, bedroom!719 views"My daughter is 13 and her name is Carlyse Coleman! She has been a fan of Ben since his 1st season. After Christmas in 2004, she said to me that Santa didn't bring me the best present ever! When I asked what that was, she said a Ben Roethlisberger jersey! The next morning I went out with her older brother and got her the 1st of many!!! She's also been to Bens football camp the past 2 yrs! She's does love her quarterback!!" -- Christine Petroci

Julia Pollock - October, 2010707 viewsIn June of 2012, Ben was made aware of a very special fan that was fighting cancer. Julia Pollock (above at a Steelers game in the Fall of 2010, or what she refers to as "Ben's Return Game") had been in the hospital for 52 days. Ben sent her a short video message he made from his kids football camp in the hope it would lift her spirits. She and her family wanted Ben's fans to see the video, and her response, which was also videotaped by her family:

Julia sent a message of thanks to Ben that she also wanted to share with his fans:
Hello my name is Julia Pollock.
I battled breast cancer in 2010. In January 2011 I thought I had won the battle, but unfortunately I had not. The cancer is now in my spine and affecting my brain. They say it is terminal. I’m 38 hrs old and refuse to accept that. I still have so much I need to do.
I want Ben to know that his video email meant the world to me not just because I bleed black and gold and watching him every Sunday makes my week but because I’ve ALWAYS known him to be a man with a good heart. When I received the message I was in the hospital and I swear that was the moment I realized I had to fight like I was playing those dumb Ravens in a playoff game. Lol. After 52 days bed ridden in the hospital I am home with my family in Brighton,CO. I’m getting stronger everyday. I guess you could say this is my training camp.
I worked at a hardware store in Steamboat Springs, CO. We employee 45 or so employees. When they all saw the video message they reacted as I did with one exception. They all turned to Steeler Nation or better yet Ben Nation. Every Saturday at work I dress in my jersey for pre-game day. I’ve done this for 6 years. I have had to endure a lot from all my friends and customers. I never would have thought that one genuine and heart felt message could change all of their minds and that they are using words like classy, stand up, awesome and great guy when using Ben in a sentence. Thank you sooo much for your gift. I will treasure it forever.
I know your busy getting ready for the season which is why I’m taken back by your act of kindness. My sister was able to get tickets for her and I to go see you play the Broncos on Sunday night opener. Even though she was only able to get the 2 tickets and my whole family can’t go I’m beyond excited. I’ll be the one yelling and cheering you guys on to a victory in a hostile Bronco crowd wearing my Big Ben jersey with pride. The least I can do after you cheered me on. Thank you with all my heart. I do truly do believe the Lord works in mysterious ways and miracles happen. I have to, I’m a Steelers fan, right?
Thank you so much to Julia, and to her father Alan Nagy! God bless you!

May, 2015 - Bryan & Sara699 viewsThat evening Sara and I had reservations at Linger Longer Steakhouse and as we began our main course we recognized a familiar group being seated about 20 feet from us – it was Ben and a handful of RBs/WRs. We could not believe this was actually happening, and as a lifelong fan I felt like a little kid again. After we finished our dinner (and Ben’s table had not yet been served) we knew we had about a minute to do something. So we approached their table and I quickly introduced myself to Ben and thanked him for signing our ball. He could not have been nicer or more sincere in congratulating Sara and I on our wedding and the whole table was great too. After our brief chat we apologized for interrupting their meal and promptly left for our hotel.
I am not sure if we will ever have the opportunity to meet Ben again, but I do know Steeler Nation could not be more proud to have Ben as our leader. We look forward to continuing to support and cheer for our Steelers. Here we go!†– Bryan Antic
