Dec. 26, 2007 - Ben at the Harlem Globetrotters Performance at Mellon Arena2152 viewsThe World Famous Harlem Globetrotters kicked off the second leg of their 2008 “Magic As Ever†World Tour Wednesday night at Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh, featuring a special cameo by Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.
The Pro Bowl signal caller was invited onto the floor late in the fourth quarter, during the Globetrotters’ wildly popular football routine. As an added treat for the Pittsburgh fans, the Globetrotters broke their huddle donning Steelers jerseys. After the Globetrotter players were put in motion, the ball was snapped to Globetrotter Showman “Showtime†Gaffney, who pitched to Roethlisberger, who then threw a perfect TD strike over the confounded Washington Generals defense to “Hi Rise†Brown, much to the delight of the Pittsburgh faithful.
Several other Steelers players and coaches were in attendance to witness Big Ben’s exploits, including Head Coach Mike Tomlin’s wife and children, who enjoyed the action courtside.
