Big Ben News is making some changes...
The site is changing its status and its name!
BigBenNews.com will now be BigBen7.com - the official site of Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.
Within the next few weeks, the site will have a new look too!
And once the new look is in place, the old site name will be gone!

The site was brought to my attention by a few people close to me who visit it regularly. I must admit, I visit sometimes to see the photos and remind myself of what I’ve been up to!

Ben positively does not have Facebook or MySpace pages, nor a Twitter account!
Any such postings are imposters and should be disregarded.
We are actively working to end this problem with those companies.

About this site:
This site was originally designed and created in December, 2006 by me and web designer Sylvie Morin. The current version (updated in 2009) was designed by Nathan Schively. Mr. Schively will also design the new official site. All updates and additions are maintained by me. BBN.com has had over 730,000 *actual visitors (as of March 18, 2010) with many stopping by from as far away as England, Australia, Germany and Switzerland (despite what sites like quantcast.com claim, which are stat sites that downgrade your viewership based on whether you sign up with their company or not). *Actual "visitors" are those that spend a determined amount of time on the site (calculated by my hosting company) as opposed to simple "hits" that can be automatically generated by web robots, crawlers, etc. January, 2009 was the site's biggest month for fan visits with 18,589.
Regular visitors (daily, weekly basis) make up more than half of that actual visitor total.
The content that you'll see on this site was collected by me as well as many fan-contributors.
Submissions of news, fan art, icons, photos, articles, etc. are always welcome and greatly appreciated! (full credit will be given for any contributions).

Bandwidth theft or "hotlinking" is direct linking to a web site's files (images, video, etc.). An example would be using an <img> tag to display a JPEG image you found on someone else's web page so it will appear on your own site, eBay auction listing, weblog, forum message post, etc.
Bandwidth refers to the amount of data transferred from a web site to a user's computer. When you view a web page, you are using that site's bandwidth to display the files. Since web hosts charge based on the amount of data transferred, bandwidth is an issue. If a site is over its monthly bandwidth, it's billed for the extra data or taken offline.
A simple analogy for bandwidth theft: Imagine a random stranger plugging into your electrical outlets, using your electricity without your consent, and you paying for it.
